Elisabeth Guilbaud-Cox's career in the field of communications and public information spans almost three decades. She has worked for the non-profit and private sectors, as well as for government and inter-governmental organizations.
She joined UNEP's Regional Office for North America (UNEP RONA) with responsibility for enhancing the organization's visibility in the region. In this role, she is promoting collaboration between UNEP and the Governments of Canada and the United States, and with the private sector and outstanding environmental, academic, and scientific institutions in the region. Before coming to Washington, she worked in the Division of Communications and Public Information at UNEP's Headquarters in Nairobi where she showcased the organization's work around the world through the coordination of global media events.
Prior to joining UNEP, she was Communications Coordinator for the Government of Ontario's Ministry of Housing, and Communications Advisor to the Minister of Municipal Affairs. Immediately prior to that she ran her own communications firm where she served varied clients such as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Board. For eight years before that, Ms. Guilbaud-Cox worked with the Canadian Red Cross Society in both Vancouver, British Columbia and at their Headquarters in Toronto, Ontario as Assistant Director of Public Relations.
Ms. Guilbaud-Cox speaks four languages and has lived in Canada, the Caribbean, Kenya, Switzerland and the United States.
