Diana Dai
Australia

Photo of Diana Dai I was born in Shanghai, China but I have lived most of my life in Melbourne, Australia. I am currently halfway through a Masters of International Relations at the University of Melbourne. Previously, I completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Media and Communications and International Politics. Over the years I have studied a wide range of topics and one the most important, controversial and challenging is the environment. An internship with UNEP RONA is an amazing opportunity to see how theories and ideas in books actually translate into practice. This is particularly exciting in an area of the world that is undergoing major shifts in lifestyle and public opinion about environmental issues.

As a communications intern I have the opportunity to gain practical experience in a wide range of tasks including compiling media advisories, drafting public remarks and daily media analysis. It is very exciting because everyday is different. The whole team here in Washington are fantastic, talented and dedicated individuals who have all made me feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. I hope this internship will be the beginning of a long career within the UN family.
