Ireland
I graduated with a Bachelor or Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Masters Degree in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh with specialization in poverty and gender, and environmental law and policy.
I was delighted to be chosen as a fall intern at the United Nations Environment Programme’s Regional Office for North America (UNEP RONA). Washington is a very dynamic city for environmental policy and UNEP is the perfect UN agency for my educational background.
The friendly, accommodating, and empowering attitudes of the staff has resulted in an extremely valuable and rewarding personal experience. My work focused on the U.S. legislative process, which meant I had the chance to attend and draft reports on conferences and meetings that took place in the city.
Prior to joining UNEP, I spent a year at home in the west of Ireland managing our family’s organic farming business. My future plans entail working with international organizations in the environmental mainstreaming of development. |
