I'm currently a Master's student studying International Culture and Business at the University of Passau in southern Germany. My internship at UNEP's Regional Office for North America (UNEP RONA) in Fall 2008 marks a wonderful experience in my life. My strong involvement in the preparation of several events and conferences allowed me to gain insight into international cooperation in environmental protection. As an intern, I often got in touch with all kinds of representatives from NGOs, state, academic and businesses and other key players of the environmental community. This experience allowed me to better understand the cooperation between different sectors, including NGOs and businesses.

My internship also gave me new input for my current studies; it was particularly helpful for my master's thesis. Beyond that, I am convinced that the experiences I gained during this internship will be important assets to find a job in the international environmental community. Finally, to work with the highly supportive, sincere and culturally-diverse RONA staff was not just professionally, but also personally enriching in a very profound way.
